Biography
Born in Rome, Italy in 1952. She lives in New York. Daughter of Ingrid Bergman and Roberto Rossellini, Isabella Rossellini first participated in TV shows in Italy and became a model for Lancôme and Lancaster. As an actress, she worked with major filmmakers, such as David Lynch
Blue Velvet 1986 Independent Spirit Award for Best Female Lead, Wild at Heart 1990, James Gray Two Lovers in 2008 or Denis Villeneuve
Enemy in 2013. She was granted the Berlinale Camera at the Berlin International Film Festival in 2013. In 2015, she has presided the Jury of Un Certain Regard section at the Cannes Film Festival and in 2016 she was granted an honorary doctorate by the University of Québec in Montreal. Her filmmaker work consists of three short-features web-series about animal behaviors that she wrote and directed for SundanceTV in 2008
Green Porno, 2011 Seduce me and 2013 Mammas. In these films, later adapted to theater (Bestiaire d’Amour), she interpreted various animals in their specific life rituals. She is also a Goodwill Ambassador the Jane Goodall Institute for the protection of wildlife and environment.
